Roger paused for a moment. "Well... I suppose I don't know what I'm supposed to do... and you don't know either... maybe when you've found out could you come back to tell me then?" he asked eying the floor. It wasn't hard to guess what he wanted to do.

Ohanzee seemed a bit aggitated by that response and glanced to Azia. Sighing, he tried to think of a quick reason that might explain it. He knew Roger wanted to get back to work, but he didn't want to leave empty-handed either. There had to be SOMETHING they could show him or do. Ohanzee looked from the doctor to Azia again, giving the girl a slight nudge to see if she had an idea...

Azia sighed a little and stepped closer to Roger, luckily she wasn't all dolled up and in her fancy dress, so the water wasn't a problem. When she was close shel enaed in and whispered, in case anyone was nearby, "Look, his name's Ralph, we've fled Brenton, he's suposedly accused of some crimes, but from the way Gathero talks with him, I think they're false..." she said, her bright green eyes enchanting, and yet, always watching him closely.

Roger paused when Azia whispered into his ear. "Ah..." he said with a nod. It seemed he had an idea of what Gath wanted him to do. He would eye Ralph curiously. "Well... either way I can't get anything done right away... but I'd like to talk to him for a little in private." The german shepard now looked somewhat a little pleased.... was it because he was happy to get the work?

Ohanzee...Ralph...stood there nervously wondering exactly what was being whispered. When he saw that look on Roger's face after being told whatever, that put him a bit more on edge. What exactly did Azia just tell him, and why did that expression on the man's face suddenly send a chill through his spine? And he wanted to talk to him privately on top of that? Oh yes. No good was coming from this...

Azia crossed her arms and shook her head, "Hmm... no, you can talk to him while I am here. It makes no difference, besides I provide a voice for him." she said, her tone giving away the stubrness she was harboring.

Roger looked at them. "Well I suppose... So what do you want to do about the bounty on you? We can hide you, or I can see what I can do to get the bounty removed, its your choice." Odd how he was offering quite a bit of help to a stranger, but who knew?

Ralph looked about the room for a second. This was...this was going a little too well. Was somebody hiding in the background waiting for him to agree to all this? This was some kind of trap maybe? His being an outlaw was spoken about quite openly now.
Well...Ralph was just going to have to risk it, wasn't he? There weren't that many other options they could go with and somebody was bound to see through his pathetic disguise anyways. Sighing, he gave a nod, trying to indicate that either or both would've worked. Really, what did he have to lose besides a heavy price on his head and a lot of heat? Maybe he could even go about living normally. Life in Brenton was kind of nice, for the times he wasn't waving a gun about at least.

Roger would nod his head. "In the mean time then, I suppose I can put out word if anyone is looking for a job...." Roger paused for a moment. "Well you can't go around with your name like that if there's a bounty on you." The shepard would tred through the water up the stairs. It would be a while before he came down but when he did, there was a bunch of papers in his hands.
"Here you can use this," he said handing them to Ralph. There were a whole bunch of identity documents for a person named Jonathan Ralph. Birth certificate, a report card from a school somewhere in Georgia and several letters from previous employers. Seems like this Jonathan Ralph fellow was from Georgia and had his species listed as a wolf. Former jobs tended to involve heavy lifting... although the wolf's age was 37. "This should be your new name."

Azia watched in silence, unsure of whether or not she trusted this Roger guy or not yet. Though, so far he seemed ok. Though the idea of someone helping Ralph without them knowing him at all... scetchy in her book. "Why're you doing this? What's your loyalty to Gathero, because it's obviously not to us." She said, her arms still crossed. She was glad things would be easier, but still... things where... complex, and far from crystal clear.

Ralph nodded faintly in agreement. He couldn't have worded it better himself. While Roger might've known Gathero, the doctor was still hundreds of miles away. Who knew what would've happened without his where he couldn't find out about it.
Ralph also wondered if that new identity was going to do much to hide his looks. The bandages were already bugging him shortly after getting on the train for Brooklyn. He at least needed a way to hide his scar, maybe get a haircut (*sob* He needs one though! XD), better clothes...maybe even some way to communicate. He couldn't expect Azia to handle conversations for him all the time!

Roger paused to consider, though the look on his face was not one of suspicion, more of thoughtfulness. He was wondering how he could tell them. "Well, I owe him alot including my life... and we've known each other for a long while and I help him with his business in Brooklyn." It was evident they weren't going to get more information from him... they could try pressing him to see where it lead

Azia frowned a little, "Business?" she asked Roger, not really trusting him all that much yet, it was her nature to not trust someone for awhile, Ralph of course the only exception as of yet. "Why should we believe you? I mean We're be putting our heads on the block by even telling you anything."
Ralph scritched under his chin thoughtfully as he listened to both Roger and Azia. The lady had a point, but the man did have more reason to be trusted. At least by him. Ralph trusted Gathero. He didn't think he'd lead him wrong or anything. Maybe he was too trusting, but what else could be done right now? Sighing a little, he'd nudge Azia and give her a slight nod, trying to indicate it would be okay. If something did happen, they'd be able to handle it...maybe...
Roger glanced at Azia with a sigh. It was obvious he was getting tired of her suspicion. "Just some trading business... now if you don't wish to take my offer of help its fine by me," he said with a shrug and turned his back on them to head deeper into his office to see if he oculd remove the water somehow.
Azia's eyes flashed a little as Roger walked off, "I didn't say we wouldn't take it... I just don't likeh aving a one sided deal... makes me... edgy." she said, of course, Ralph had seen a small portion of her edgy side when she slapped him. "So, how can we pay you?"
Ralph sloshed through the water to where the papers Roger set down were, looking through them curiously. He wondered if this was really going to help hide him that much. The name didn't sound indian or Mexican, so he might have to change his disguise...maybe wear a suit. Ugh...he hated suits so much. He could consider it punishment in a case like this though. It's what he got for shooting his gun off in a brothel around a bunch of ladies. He was lucky he hadn't hurt a girl. So yeah, this punishment and whatever came at him, he could take...
Roger went about his things trying to bail out the water. It seemed now that Ralph and Azia were invisible to him. He would just walk past them without acknowledging their presence or not. Azia was rather hostile towards him and he saw no sense in being hospitable if he was being treated as such when he wanted to help them... and yes Ralph would probably have to wear a suit, or just something. Definately not Mexican or Indian.
Azia blinked a little and harumpfed, "Hello there..." she siad, hands on her hips as she spoke to Roger, "Care to name your price?" she asked, not exactly in a mean tone, but not exactly warm and fuzzy either.
Ralph kept an ear out for a response as well while he read through papers. Azia was his voice, however her tone sounded and whoever she was friendly or not toward. Sometime though, he was going to have to try teaching her some kind of signals so she didn't speak her mind so much. Or at least sugarcoat what she said a little so it didn't sound so...venomous.
Roger glanced at Azia. "If he accepts the job that we'll have for him, the price will be paid," he said simply although he was saying it more so Azia wouldnt be so suspicious. Sinmply said, no price.
Azia blinked a little, and frowned, but she didn't say anything, just went quiet and moved over to stand by Ralph, looking up at him, as if to ask him what he though on the matter.
Ralph's tail swished behind him a little in response to Azia's presence. Just to acknowledge she was there while he read. After sighing once he finished reading, he'd set the papers back down and look to the both of them, giving a nod of agreement. This couldn't be too bad of a job, could it? And it beat having to hold drinking contests to get his cash like he'd planned on doing...of course he was probably going to do it anyways.
Roger glanced at Ralph. "Well just leave where you're staying on the table and I'll contact you eventually." Sadly the friendliness was gone in his voice, even though they were Gathero's friends. The shepard didn't look too happy now though. Who would be after being treated in such an icy manner when they were just trying to help?
Azia nodded a little and sighed, "We'll be switching residency soon, though. We'll be moving over to the fancy hotel on the far side of town, If you need to contact us, ask for me." She said, her voice flat, quiet now.
Ralph arched an eyebrow at Azia when he heard that. Sheesh, how much money was she given anyways!? He didn't like the idea of moving into someplace high-class (especially when he had next to none); but all he could do was nod. He couldn't very well leave her alone in the town. Smiling thankfully to Roger despite the change in atmosphere, he'd offer a handshake. Whether or not it was accepted, he'd snatch up the documents for another look-over wherever he and Azia were staying before starting to heading for the door - waiting for the lady, of course.
Roger shook Ralph's hand when he did so. "All right, now please leave I need to do my cleaning," he said simply.
Azia gave Roger little more than a nod before she left, she still wasn't sure about things, and it was kinda obvious she wasn't sure. For now though, she set herself to leading Ralph off to their new bedding.
[And so begin's Ralph's odd jobs and probably even more trouble~ XD]

In the middle of the night, the sound of firetrucks could be heard and hooves of horses clattering across the cobbled street. There would be cries of fire and the building housing Roger's office would have a full blaze burning into the night sky. The firemen did their best but it would be plain to see that the building couldn't be saved, all they could do was try and contain the fire. Come morning, the place would be nothing but a charred skeleton with nothing else left to find save for burned wood and metals
